NRG are set to attend ESL One New York, the tournament organizers have announced.
The North American side, who are currently competing at the StarLadder Americas Minor in Berlin, are the sixth team confirmed for the event, with just two invites left to be distributed.
The addition of Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and company leaves Vitality as the only top five team not yet confirmed for the event, with Liquid, Astralis, and ENCE having received the first three invites.
This will be NRG's second consecutive appearance at the Big Apple, with the team having missed out on the first two iterations of the event, in 2016 and 2017, after falling in the closed qualifier. Last year, a loss to the eventual champions, MOUZ, sent the team packing in the semi-finals.
NRG recently debuted with their new in-game leader, stanislaw, at ESL One Cologne, managing a 5-6th place finish following losses to Liquid in the upper bracket final and Vitality in the quarter-finals. Their appearance at BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles immediately after saw the team achieve a top-four placement as they fell in the semi-finals to a dominant performance by FaZe.
ESL One New York will be held in the Barclays Center from September 26-29, offering the lion's share of the $200,000 prize pool to the champion. It will also be the second event in the third season of the Intel Grand Slam, with this week's IEM Chicago awarding the first point.
The team list for the event now looks as follows:
